yeah, some perhaps overzealous importers brought in a lot a few years back and it flooded the market, so the prices dropped. when we first imported tropical gars in back in 2005, a small individual (4-6") was $300, and a larger individual (8") was $350...obviously the price dropped after additional importations and more gars coming in each order. the market for those fish is not large, but TPGs are definitely great gar species to keep. unless you really need to get rid of it, i would not sell it for less than $200. good luck--
