mithesaint nice tank setup wow. Anyways thanks for the info guys, and mithesaint you nailed the exact voltage and amp i was going for. 9V-1A was the numbers i came up to when i was researching in using these. Anyways is there any other place other than ebay i can get these cold cathode lights?

I bought these from XOxide http://www.xoxide.com/bluecathode.html. I actually bought 2 sets but ended up using only 3 12" tubes. I took the actual CC out from the protective tube so it would fit better in the 6ft light I put them into.
I followed these instructions http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/diy_moonlight.php and found a suitable adapter in my junk box. I'm quite happy with the end result.
