  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
2k is a great price for all of those

I was talking retail with $750.....

But with any large fish in bad condition the price would go down

IF anyone would be interested PM me, I can do even better price wise..... :)

Holy moly!
10 cm / 4" Vatf are at 25€ at our wholesaler o.O
I do understand the dedication and food required to grow one out, but damn lol

Do you even have the slightest idea what a 4" Vatf costs over here? It does cost money to send fish to continents where they don't belong...... ;) They're usually around $125-$150. Add shipping and your fish just cost $200-$225. You know how much they cost from a wholesaler here? Neither do I cause wholesalers VERY rarely have them over here.

Do you also understand that it takes years of luck to get them big? All it takes is one dart into the lids or side of the tank, or a mishap when moving and boom! Years of hard work down the drain.

I sure would think we'd see more large ones if they were that easy to grow up. ;)

I didn't figure a fish coming from Africa would cost much more to ship to the US than Europe, but yeah, I hadn't considered that.

And I was not making fun, by the way, not sure I deserved the harsh reply. I was honestly shocked at the price difference, but to be fair, I can find a small super red aro for 300€ and a big show quality for 12k, so it does make sense.

Again, I didn't mean to offend anyone, if I could ship them to all of you to save money, I would. I was really genuinely surprised.

I didn't mean to sound harsh, but being someone that's invested in these things I understand the challenges involved in having big ones. It's no easy task.

IF I had to guess I'd say the cost is higher over here not due to shipping but rather mortality. More die then live when they come over here. I had a discussion with one of the importers over here about Tatf and he said due to mortality rate being so high he was simply done importing them cause they just become infeasibly priced after factoring in mortality rate.

Yeah, the passion for the fish is almost audible when you type. ;) I should have seen it as such! And i do understand how my comment could be irking for someone who's obviously been through a lot of good but also bad things with the fish.

I did consider the smallest one, i believe it was Vatf, but i don't believe a 250 would be anywhere near enough for life, and I only keep fishes for life, that's what drives me, see their evolution.

Our wholesaler seems to have the last one in stock for about a month, that's how unpopular it is here i guess. I seem to be one of the only ones in Belgium interested in monsters :(
