IMO, best to buy them small and grow them out. I would say get six at 2" and try to form a pair. This way you get the joy of watching them grow and you don't spend $150-$200 for a pair.

I'd venture to say you probably haven't raised a group of argentea. There is no joy when they decide to start stealthily killing each other at 4".

OP, it's not easy to get a breeding pair of these guys. Do some googling and see how many hobbyists have tank bred them--really not a lot.

They are very agressive, he didnt do well in my 500 with the bass, rays, etc. so he is in the 265 with all my bichirs and polystigma.
