Either a fenestratus or zonatus of some type. As it grows you will be able to tell for sure. My first guess would have been fenestratus due to the red color on it's head but Mo is probably right.

Picked up this guy today labeled as a jewel cichlid lol... He/she is about 4", is it a young bifa? Can it be sexed yet?

It's hard to tell from the picture because much of the coloration is muted but if those flecks and mask from it's upper lip to it's eye is reddish then my guess would be Hartwegi. Here's a pick of my old Hartwegi excuse the quality it's from 2011 and I was a lot worse at taking pics back then

Thanks Mo! You're the one who inspired my love of cichlids and I've learned a lot from your amazing pics and threads.

No problem J. The Hartwegi looks more or less the same when mature. The one in my pic is between 8-10 inches. They're not as deep bodied as say Zonatus or Syns instead their bodies are slightly more elongate. Coloration though is amazing my pic does this fish no justice at all. The reds specks intensify but stay a maroon color the dorsal gets yellow in it and the blue absorbs the stripe that splits the body depending on mood and whether they're displaying or not.
