not gonna lie... if you are gonna mention you are handicapped to get pity points, i feel that its a little dishonest. I have a family member who is handicapped from a car accident. i have never heard him mention him being handicapped once. Also im not sure why everyone is getting so butt hurt here. All mods are chosen and referred by people here in mfk. and i think they are all doing a great job with the site. They work hard for this site, and they do it pretty much out of charity to fish people like us. if you dont like it here you can leave. no one is asking you to stay.. especially you altumz. you just embarrassing yourself trying to argue a stupid point for your own troll. grouping obesity and people working hard on this forum is like grouping you with people who shouldnt give birth to others cause you'd just spread the disease of stupidity.

I usually agree with you oddball, but all due respect if he chooses to voice a personal concern, why should site admin punish him if they have nothing to hide about their dealings? Obviously not a matter of transparency, pharaoh posted just as much of the personal interaction 2 posts down as OP did, which I see nothing wrong with besides that due to your post before it seems hypocritical. Mainly don't see any problem with pharaohs post either because OP chose to post it first, which i think is fine in turn because its his concern.

Most here realize you are doing this for basically nothing, which most appreciate, I just think it's a bit like aquascape lately deleting negative feedback posts. He was easily disproven by pharaohs post and now comes off looking like an idiot, don't you think a month ban is a bit harsh? I don't even know the guy, but I'm willing to bet from the way he writes the smart people on this forum would have figured out he isn't as credible as you pretty quickly even if pharaoh didn't out him.

Just my opinion, don't have a horse in this race.

Unfortunately, in 99.9% percent of the cases, we don't out anyone. We correct the situation privately and move on. Thus, those that have been chided are free to put us on blast to everyone else. Most likely why some of the Mod team have a negative view from the membership. Not saying that the team doesn't handle things in different ways. But in any instance, you wouldn't believe how effective straight-forward conversation can be.

I couldn't even begin to tell you how many people I've let slide on things. Wilson has been on notice to become a vendor dating all the way back to June of 2012. I'm not sure how much rope people are expecting to get, but this was surely enough.

Contrary to popular belief, I enjoy having a little fun and letting loose. But I do have a job to do here, and that sometimes gets in the way of my ability to be as loose as I once was. Nature of the beast I guess. Plus, I don't have near as much time to lurk as I once did.

who the hell sweats using this forum? mind blown! must be someone thats obese and never works out in their life to sweat on a site like this. do you sweat when you're on this forum? and not sure if you know how to read. i said certain mods, not ALL mods. there are some good mods that isnt as strict and cooler then other mods here.

You must not understand figurative language very well. That or you are just trying to troll this thread. Either way, insults aren't the way to have a conversation. It takes a lot of time and effort to keep a productive forum going. Some spend more time and effort than others. Some even accept a task knowing that they are going to have to be the hard-ass that everyone hates because he/she is making them follow the rules. I personally volunteered to get the Marketplace back in line after the migration. This involves helping find and implement new software, and get every back on track as for as posting within the guidelines that have been in place for years.

Certain mods handle small things such as cleanup, and some handle the dirty work. I'll bet good money there's a correlation between the dirty work and the "certain" mods of which you speak. But, everything you've probably heard was likely one-sided conversation and/or word of mouth.

I'll help you out since you're new here.

Let's correct this:

• Ignores attempts to establish him as a vendor
• Dodges vendor fees for 4 years.
• Posts a thread in the open forum complaining about how unfair it is
• Ignores responses to his questions
• Posts an additional thread in the open forum after being told not to.

It's not a guarantee that you'll get a 1 month ban, but it would be a good way to get started.

This situation is quite different then the situation with Aquascape, IMO. In Aquascapes case they didn't do what was required of them. The result was they received poor reviews which they tried to hide. In both instances they where wrong. In this case the only one who did anything wrong was wilson4.

Wilson4 violated TOS, a contract he agreed to when he joined the site; which included having actions taken against him if he committed violations. Pharaohs explains that this isn't the only thread wilson4 created about this same situation. Since wilson4 didn't like the answers his other TOS violating threads got he continued to post new ones. How many times should he have been allowed to violate TOS before an action was taken? How many times should he have been allowed to tell his side alone before a Mod/Admin finally gave partial disclosure in an attempt to explain his one sided posts?

MFK is a free site and I don't really think obeying the Terms Of Service is asking too much. Nor do I think it's fair to compare someone violating TOS and the repercussions for said actions to Aquascape taking money for a product they failed to deliver and trying to hid that fact. MFK's TOS including Vendor status is readily available for anyone to see. So I don't see how MFK is hiding anything except wilson4's rep by not making a public display as to the reasons he's being asked to apply for Vendor status.

I hear what you guys are saying, and I bet this guy had it coming for sure. Was just a gut feeling of mine that a month was too harsh, not that I care though because I don't know the guy and from his posts and post count I don't see him as being super helpful here anyway. Keep doing what you're doing, like I said most of us appreciate it, just didn't think it was exactly fair that he aired matters between staff and himself publicly, got banned, and then a staff member shared more information of the private dealings. I'm personally all for this stuff all being public, both ways, but I understand how some is better kept private, so do what you gotta do, no ones perfect.
