Any advice for someone thinking about getting in to the commercial end of things? What is the most efficient way to make some money?

Thank you.

Fish stuff or goods in general? You mean like a business not just needing cash right?

There is no way to make money selling live fish on line. When the wholesalers & importers start selling direct to the public, it makes it difficult. The buyer are soo spoiled with the low-ball prices. The wholesalers make little profit, then they price war with themselve, its not worth it. As for dry good, thats very challenging. The sellers sell stuff soo ceap, almost next to cost. Its like they just like to sell stuff for the heck of it. I saw on E=bay, fluval FX-5 for $175(new), thats less then cost for most retailer. My LPS sells it for $299.99. When I first started selling fish on line, there were a few good sellers, Wes, Jon Rare, Anthony, Toyin, thats it. The fish were good and there was really no low-balling. Today , fish come in on a sunday, there up for sale that night & these guys are selling asap, fish good, bad, eating or not. Its very different these days

This statement cannot be true. Otherwise you would not be able to buy fish online. May not be able to make a fortune, but some small amount of profit is there for the highly motivated.

let me give you a few examples
Jardini arowana...$17.50
motoro rays..$50
electric cat fish//$5
small clown loach..$2
mystus wyckii..small ..$5
mogunda goby..$2.50
10" rhoms..$200
fluval fx-5...$175

show me how u can make money??????

Im really not trying to be a prick. But you must make some money. There's no way you'd be a vendor if you were losing money right? And yea TFD is real close to the line, I cant argue with that, but they dont get every type of fish, and he aint selling real rare stuff there.....

I see your point. Sorta a "why sell fish if it doesn't make any money"... don't know..
