F fed X

If you want a fish delivered on time, go fed-ex...usps & air borne are not reliable. In 4 years fed-ex misplaced/ handled 1 package. Yeh, its more expensive, but you get what you pay for

Will get a type of fish that no one has, but is looking for and up the prices evil, and ppl that really want em will still buy.
Supply And Demand.

You did not see my point when I posted about rare items. I do a standard mark up. When someone slashes cost to right bare minimum, an order for me to sell them I have to take huge risk by dropping price as well. This means lets say I lose just one. Then that means I will be lucky to break even. I lose two then I go in the hole.

It is in no way evil to cover your own *** when it come to this game. That is how you stay in business. You find a mark up that is fair with customers and it has to meet my needs as well so I can stay a float.

The point is that there is money to be made here. I'm not giving anyone a hard time, but I also dont think a vendor should come out and say that it is impossible to make money. YOU WOULDNT BE SELLING IF YOU COULDN'T MAKE MONEY. Are you makin millions? Hell no. But people can and do make their living off of this hobby. Tough buisness to make it in? Yea, but what isn't? I love the vendors here and have bought from many of you, but the bottom line is that you are vendors. You make money. How and why would you deny it?

I have never denied that there is no money to be made in the fish business. I was just explaining the pitfalls.

I know, my comment was directed tward Fish Room Plus. On page one it was stated that it was impossible to make money selling fish online.

I think it's not denying...:) but avoiding people who would think that they jack up the price excessively (which i think honestly they do not do... competition is too tight). If the price is high in some cases that is because they have quality fish and not hungry starving to death fish. Saltwater we have a policy on how long they can report DOAs. Depends on the clients, if they are very truthful we give them longer DOAs but if they are scrum bags we don't deal with them. :irked: (ex. we supplied a big wholesaler and he gave us a list of DOA one of them a bamboo shark... guess what.. we did not ship bamboo shark on that shipment!:irked: -scum bags!). point made.. selling fish makes money if you do it in large volume..and not at the back of your house or garage (unless you got a large land that can have a warehouse type of scenario) and as Koliveira said, you are looking into $1000 worth of fish not including the other expenses.:D High risk high pay-off, but do not disregard possibilities of loosing.:D Good luck!:D

My idea of making money might be different then everyone elses. To ship a fish to make $5-$10(which alot of these wholers do) isnt worth my time. If someone wants 1 uaru for $10, I tell them no

I'll add to this if I may...this is like iTUNES. iTUNES makes money right? Not a whole lot...just enough on each song. HOWEVER...they are so popular that people buy from them and it's a rediculus amount of money. Now...people can get their songs and albums from limewire, torrents, other places like that. Liveaquaria makes money...Petsolutions makes money...Alex and the others are just feeding their family. Props to you guys! And as for the other guy thats no longer here...WALMART of fish...he's the enemy!!!
