venn. growth rate

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i would say 1" or 2" a month is right. i use a diet of shrimp and omega 1 large pellets...water quality...always important, but i dont do anything special "just for him"

and sadly butterfly loaches are also on the menu...in fact anything that he can ALMOST get in his mouth. smallest fish when i added him to the tank, though, long before he could even attempt to swallow them he started trying to eat the rest of my fish...lol...ambitious little guy.

out of curiousity, what is about average growth in a year for a ven acquired at say, 3"

After about a year mine is at about 12", but he's really slowed down.
Anyway, anyone want a 12" ven?

i have a ven at 3'' about 3 months ago, now it is 8''. It all depends on water, diet, etc.

I hope mine turns out to be as good looking as yours! great color!

Size of the tank for sure dictates growth, mine went from 3" to 12" in a 6 month time period!

He's only in a 75 right now, so I'm searching for either a 125, or a buyer with a larger tank for him. Best plan is the 125 cause I've really grown to like him a lot, he's like a puppy, greets me every morning when I turn on the lights and begs for food every night.
