Are you saying it's a female? Because it looks different then my females vent.

Nope, there was no sarcasm about it.
I was really curious about the way to be sure about the venting.

I cant still see any vent.... :(

Well it was explained to me that on females the the V is wider and on male it's narrower.. I guess thats right as it's what I was told. My female has a real wide V as this one seems to be narrow which is why I guessed male.. that and it hangs around my female all the time and I'm 99% it fertilized her eggs lol, she ate them before I could see if they would hatch but they were brown. Although as for appearance my female looked very similar at that size, brown spots and all so I just want to be 100% sure.

You can't vent them looking from that angle. It needs to more or so horizontal. Also, can you please provide a full shot pic?

My female was vented from this angle.. posted a pic just like it and everyone said female and they were right.

I don't think the full shot will help too much as it's very bland, yes it has spots but they are brown as opposed to black and looking back at some pics of my old female she had brown spots as well.

If nothing else the behavior makes me think male as well because my two Dovii seem to be a pair, but if it's not a male I want to find one.

Hmmmm..... Quite the opposite in usually true for most people.

Anyway, to the original question about how did I determine male, look for the "goods" to be blunt and wider than the anal pore in a female and narrower and pointed in a male.

The easiest way to sex dovii, though, is to look for spotting in the unpaired fins. That indicates a male in most parachromis species at a fairly young age.

Thats what I was going off of.. here is a pic of the vent on my female, notice how it's much wider then the vent I posted in the first post, which is why I was assuming it's a male (according to the vent).

venting is gonna be helpful with mouthbrooders (eggs are bigger so female's vent is wider than male's one) but not so much with substrate spawners, because the eggs are relatively smaller nad the vents results quite similar.

Just stop with the misinformation....Someone might read your post and think you know what you are talking about....Just look and learn, until you have a dovii or two;)
