Venus Fly Trap Eats Frog

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Those plants are really boring, I bet that frog got away. The "teeth/spines" aren't even sharp, they are just soft bristle things. I put my finger in there to test the clamping force and I barely felt anything, those plants suck. :)

I've wanted one since i was a little kid. I guess we just have really high expectations of the venus fly trap. I know i saw alot of shows on tv when i was a kid portraying the venus fly trap as a really aggressive plant. I think that's why it doesn't seem that cool anymore.

are they fast enough to catch flies? What bout gnats and smaller flies? I've got those around the house.

Does it attract them to trap them? I'm gonna order some online for my room and office.

Seems like a silly question, it's called a flytrap...they can catch flys as well as other insects. Basically, if it wanders into the trap the trap will close.

i think in the same way a flower will attract a bee it can attract stuff, and some of the insides are coloured and can attract stuff that way. As being to able clamp your hand-its not a vice, but humans are hardly guna be its prey-what they guna do trap out finger and slowly devour it! (unless of course its the one from the little shop of horrors) they can easily take a frog and things of such sort, and they are toxic which is why they can kill and break down solid into something they can absorb.

only on mfk

I meant like you know how when you try to swat a fly, you gotta be fast or else it will fly away...how does the plant close so slowly on the fly without it escaping.

BTW I just ordered one a few days ago! :woot: for my little sister

I had some flytraps before they are a bit over rated , I have never seen anything like that frog eating before, I bet the frog got away?
