What happened to these (compressiceps x venustus) hybrids since your original post? Did you end up getting some? I'd love to see what they look like.

Yep! I'm looking for hybrids of D. compressiceps x (anything with a shorter head). I'd use these fish for a genetic study and I would need the hybrids to be fertile. This post from 2005 came up out of a google search. 5 years seems to be a long enough time to know if the compressiceps x venustus of this post are fertile. Any info regarding this matter would be very appreciated.
 
The 3rd picture posted is a Dimidiochromis fuscotaeniatus (sp?) - it is not a hybrid. They are cool fish. I have a pair that have not yet spawned.

Nimbochromis fuscotaeniatus

"A fish god" purposely creating and distributing hybrid haplochromines. Doing far more damage to the hobby than good.
