lol by testing I assume you mean sticking your hand back in the water. :WHOA:

How about unplugging EVERYTHING and then plugging stuffz back in one at a time.

Unless you have a voltmeter...:D

Just don't "test" it while touching a metal cold water pipe.

:nilly:

anemones cannot electrify the water column.. unless you've got something crazy that I've never heard of... which I kind of doubt. Now, there are toxins that some corals release that will stun or sting nearby organisms, but that is more of a burning sensation, and I can't think of any anemones that are capable of that.. only corals. My guess is that you bumped something while acclimating your anemone. I would be 99% certain that you have a short in your heater, or some other electrical problem.

There was a tank at an LFS I used to work at that was fine unless you knelt on the cracks between 4 floor tiles while your fingers were in the water (your knee was touching moisture in the cracks, and your body becomes the ground). If you're feeling it mostly in your cuticles, its more than likely electricity, and as saltwater is an excellent conductor it can linger for very brief periods of time even after the source has gone away. Check for salt creep over any power cords or a short or cut in any cords or power strips; also check for cracks in the heater, and worn places in the insulation of pump motors. Good luck with this issue. I imagine the solution is not far... there's just one tiny little thing you've forgotten to check, and that's your problem.

Wow, never had that happen with any anemone I've ever owned! Maybe if you post pics of your setup, we can help u figure out what it is.

you mean were NOT supposed to keep sticking our hands in the tank after being shocked the first time???

would be a wonderful time to ask your girlfriend/wife to "test the temperature of the water for me":ROFL::ROFL:
