That is a huge litter for her first. Our females have both had 3 litters each and the biggest litter so far has been 5, and we only had one litter that big. Most have been 3. Do you know for sure if she was full term? Were the pups fully formed? Sounds to me it was just too much for her and then to have a male jump right back at her. Personally, I would have killed my Mr. FBF.
