Very Large Red Hooks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm using 2 Zoo Med Flora Sun bulbs...regular T12. They have a pinkish hew that brings out all the fishes natural colour...many bulbs wash out a fishes colour.
Hmmm..... Looked more blue than pink but either way it really makes the spots pop. I like it.

I never really appreciated these type of fish before this video. The yellow speckling really sets them off. Thanks for sharing and good job. What's the specs on your tank? Also that's the biggest dragon blood I've seen, cheers!

Thank you, when I bought them as juveniles I didn't expect the spots as they matured. The spots are actually very nice and a couple of the dollars the spots really glow. These guys are in a 120 gallon...tanks 5 feet in length. The Dragon blood is close to 7 inches but is real thick...love that fish :)

Awesome Hooks! I hope my group turns out that nice...I have some 5 inchers that have faint orange speckling starting to show.

M/F red hook both get the color blotches when mature but it's the males with the bi-lobe hook is the one with the most tri color spots and red belly. I seen 2" red hook $$ go for $8-$15 and 4" and up go for $18-$30.

Cool, the bi-lobe hook makes sense considering it was something they developed as they matured.

Very nice. I have 2 big ones bout 9" and 1 at 3" plus 4 spotted ones and 2 plain ones. My 2 big red hooks have very little spots.
