Very Rare Pleco - ID ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It looks different to the armoured pleco pictured above, the scales are similar but the patterning is more tigerish than just spotty.....if ya' catch my drift.

When I worked for a petstore, the supplier for the store frequently imports these plecos from Peru.

We sell them as XLG common plecos.

Miles how much if ur selling i think its hella sweet

I don't think its a common Pleco, it comes from a different river then most plecos and apparantly is sensative to water change and oxygen levels.. I need a side view photo so you can see the scale structure..

It's commonly called, "common pleco".

Of course, we all know there are several variants (or species) of "common plecos" under the same name; and your fish, Miles, is one of them.
I did some pleco research years ago. I found out that germany had I.D'ed, and clasified most plecos. This was pre WWII. Sadly enough, we destroyed all their records and research with bombs. War sucks!!!!
