So... As a lot of you may already know, I had two female huskies and one got out in April and was killed. We kept one of her male puppies which is Aaliyahs new buddy. Aaliyah, is 5 years old, and is amazing very good with my 2 year old, and very very mellow and calm. Her breathing has been a little heavier lately, and she hasn't been eating good since Angel passed, and I noticed a cough she had for a few weeks.
Last Friday I noticed her eye was a little reddish pink on the white part and some splotches on the colored. I was worried about it and wasn't sure why it was like that.
I had a Christmas present from my b/f to go on a trip for the weekend and we were leaving that night. Went on my trip and when I came back Monday I saw the worst thing. Pretty much her whole eye was filled with blood.
Took her to the vet the next day, found out that the bleeding in her eye could be Cancer or something else internal. Also that she was positive for heart worms. They said that if it wasn't something major going on inside they will start the heart worm treatment for us soon.
Took her back to the vet today to do an x-ray b/c the meds didn't help, and found out some bad news. She has a big mass right above her heart. They are saying that it's more then likely Cancer. =( They said that when they tried to put her on her back to take an x-ray that she couldn't even breathe. So she is having respiratory problems too. B/c of this mass we can't even get her treatment for the heart worms b/c it would kill her if they did. They said she isn't in pain. But I think with her having to breathe heavier is making her body work that much more and that has to be tough.
They said we have a few options though....
1 Just ride it out for a bit, give her some good last times.
2 put her down now/soon
3 Take her to Auburn University and let them try to fix it. We just don't have that kind of money to take her to a place like that.
It has been a pretty bad day for me. I just want to make her as happy as I can before having to pick that day... I feel so bad for Kodi. Just taking her to the vet he was a mess. I don't want to even think about the day that she wont be here for him. This will be my second dog I lost in less then a year.
