G'day again, so i've recently found a 120 4x2x2 again. Except drilled with a trickle filter, is this an okay filtering system to work with about 80lbs of live rock?

Shouldn't have a problem with the trickle filter.

Okay, so the LFS has a trickle filter system with bioballs and the prefilter pad for the marine tanks, is this an okay set up?.
Or should i use rock rubble as a media?

Remove the bio-balls and replace them with rock rubble.

No bio Balls, need cleaned off to often to be effective at anything. Get several replacement filter pads to swap out and clean weekly. You can also use LR not just rubble, my trickle chamber has 1cu ft of LR in it. I also use chemical media - Chem-pure elite for Nitrate, Po4, and Silicates. I have a trickle tower but the rest of the sump is a glass aquarium to house - Skimmer + pump, reactors + pump, UV outlet, autodrip float, and bulkhead chamber for external main pump.
