my dad is a ww2 vet,,,88y/o
That's cool my father was also in WW2. Fewer and fewer each year now. We just lost the last WW1 vet last year the "War To End All Wars" now in now only lives in the history books.
when I WAS A KID ,, we all heard and saw stuff about ww2 ALL the time...our parents lived it,now nobody even remembers VIETNAM,,,AND that's really a group of hero's that got screwed by the media and people in general ...while I am thinking of it ,,AN EXTRA THANKS needs to go to THOSE guys in particular
When I was a kid all of us kids in the neighborhood would play army and fight all the battles we heard our fathers talk about and all the WW2 movies on TV. I must have asked my father a thousand questions about the war when I was a kid.

A deep thank you to all the brave men and women who have fought for the freedoms so many take for granted. I'm sure it isn't easy waking up day after day and risking everything you have or ever will for a country and people who don't always appreciate all the simple things in life that would not be without our armed forces. GOD BLESS YOU PEOPLE FOR KEEPING US SAFE AND FREE! YOU WILL BE REWARDED FOR YOUR SERVICE, I PROMISE YOU THAT!

Thank you to all our veterans. My dad was WWII Navy, then Korean war AF. never had a chance to say that to him. RIP.
Thanks for everyone who serves, we didn't even have a day off to thank and remember our veterans. Im disgusted with our school... Might as well call my uncle and slap him in the face for putting his life on the life for our freedom.

Are you serious? You want a day off school to "remember our veterans".We all know that most kids would just sit at home playing xbox. It sounds like you just want free day off school.
Freedom isn't the ability to get a day off school whenever you want, freedom the ablitity to go to school and get an education. Which is something that many children in other countrys dont have the opportunity to do.
You should be grateful for what your uncle fought for.
We actually spend time with our family on veterans day at Disneyland or fly down to Texas to spend time with my uncle.
