Yes it seems to be hard to get them onto dead food but I've read in lots of places that it is a must & once they are onto it they will be fine.

I wouldn't have the heart for feeding live fish myself.

I'm going to try snails this week to see how that goes. Talk about a picky eater !

mine easily eat frozen blood worm at the very first time he got introduced to my tank from LFS

I ended up getting rid of him as I couldn't get him to eat well

Got a nice Fahaka puffer instead who is much easier to feed & much more interactive.
