What a little turd! About a year ago I found a zebra danio in the mouth of my G. labiatus. That is one of the tetras, right?

I'm just going to say I would love to see a Japes feeding video!

I was just thinking about these fish the other day and wondering why we hadn't seen an update for ages! They're good lookers already, if you're right about them getting better over the next 12 months they'll be amazing!! So jealous as we only get the same old altifrons here.....

Would be interested to see the feeding video, do you find the crushed up cichlid excel sinks? I've been trying to think of ways to get more green food to my altifrons and have half a bag of it left.

Somehow I managed to miss this thread. The fish/tank look good and it's nice to see you back.

Nice tank with beautiful fish!

Beautiful fish!

It's weird to see them eat the Otocinclus, my OH ate my Otocinclus as well.

Cheers Ed,

The next morning after that shot was taken I had to net the culprit and manually extract the Otocinclus with tweezers on a wet towel. It was not eaten or damaged at all (was of course deceased). Made sure his upper lip was not pinched or locked and it took a few days to return to normal.

Biting off more than it could chew, literally - or an accident? Hasn't happened since, still Oto's in the tank. More worried about the Tetra.
