my person preference would have been to keep all the fish separated, even the pairs... they seem to be taking a beating from each other as well as the festae
colors are really quite nice on the female there...

Thanks ewok, I guess that would be the most ideal situation for long term health but I don't have the capability to do that right now. I don't know why you think the Festae are beating them down, they barely seem to notice the other fish are in there. With the Festae's much larger size, if they were the aggressors, all the fish would be dead by now. It's mostly conspecific aggression that I'm noticing. When I first put them in, the Ornatum were chasing each other around a lot but seem to have accepted each other now. Of course they're still tiny so anything can happen as they grow. I really want them to all accept one another and so I'll keep trying until I absolutely don't think it will work....so please wish me good luck, looks like I'll be needing it.

Here's the Ornatus who's tail was taken down to the nub, it's half grown back now and is in perfect condition otherwise.
