I'm a big fan of Filamentosa Barbs too, and keep a small group of them. Several are over five years old.

Filamentosas aren't as common for sale as they once were in my area, but I was lucky enough to pick up a few juveniles a few months ago.

Hi bud your fish are beautiful ! And they're over five years old just asking what size are they at ? Mine ar Abt 4.5 yrs old n some are nudging 5.5 inches question is do they grow slightly more and if to what size ?
And recently I managed to get the one fish I was after for years the tambraparniei barb(10 of them)now they're in my quarantine tank but they're very small only an inch but boy are they quick n beautiful already at this size small hints of blue on their heads n these guys will go in together with the filamentosa !
Cheers bud

Before I turned my 360 into a cold water tank my filament barbs were one of my favourite fish. I had six. I got them around the 2" mark and when I rehomed them they were all between 6-7".

They were quite drab when I got them as juvies but as they matured their filaments and irridiscent sheen started showing through. They were beautiful.

Hi bud, they're beautiful ! 6-7inches is really big ! Over here theyre easily available n I'd say this is one overlooked fish ! When you keep fish n when they are juves n not colourful n as they grow they colour up it's so satisfying n once you know for a fact that they get into beauties when they mature it's a special kind of satisfaction ! (It takes years to get here !)I'm sure you feel same way.
Cheers bud

The noted picture was taken a few years ago. Those two male Filamentosas are still going strong and are about 5.5 inches.

I just took this pic of one of the male Filamentosas swimming beside one of my Tinfoils for a size comparison.

Please excuse the glare & reflection.
