Animal control was called, the squirrel was bathed and released later. I don't see anything wrong with the cops actions. His job first and foremost is to protect the children standing behind him trying to make the next viral cop bashing video. And he did just that.

i really hate tree rats. a couple got into my atic and caused like 500 bucks worth of damage before i caught them in a trap then i made them watch tv in my living room while i drank a beer.

Squirrels normally run away from people. It was probably sick maybe rabies. That cop did the right thing. Yeah maybe he should have called animal control to catch it but if it was your kids being threatened by an animal I am sure you would have done what had to be done to protect them.

oddly enough i kinda support the cop(first time ever i think?). that squirrel has to be sick to be doing that.

I don't know about you but squirrels normally run away from cars not people. People= free easy food and attract squirrels and other animals.

Looks like a squirrel that is used to humans, was probably fed by kids at the school. Maybe it was raised by people than released. The squirrels on my college campus were all like that...as they are in most place with a large amount of people outside and eating. Didn't look erratic or threatening at all...as was the case as it was released. Dumb
