OK I officially want some. I've been out of monitors too long. I've only kept the larger species and the ackies almost seem more predatory if that makes sense...they hunt like my old green ameiva hunted.

They are very predatory and love hunting down crickets and roaches. I really enjoy watching them hunt for insects in the shelves and cracks along the wall. Their bodies are almost snake-like and they can squeeze into some tight places in pursuit of dinner.

Thanks Ben. Yellow Ackies get about 18"-24" inches long when full grown.

Did you check out that link? I made the wall out of Great Stuff spray foam and foam board. After it was all cured I carved out the wall and then covered it with tile grout mixed with a little playsand.

The tank is a 50 gallon breeder but in the next few weeks I'm going to build them a larger custom tank similar to the one they're in now.
