Thanks guys for the kind words.
Yes it is a DIY tank. I was luck to get it finished before the birth of my first kid. Now I have two, barely have enough times to keep it running!
It measures 8X4X6, I never fill it full. It only has a 2X4 window maybe that's why the tank looks small.
Actually I got the RTC at between 1" to 2" in last Christmas. Now it is about 28". I feed it only once 2-3 days. If I fed him more, it would have been 3'+ by now.
I got some exeptional growth rate. Some people didn't believe me. The young Dovii grew to 12" in his first year, now he is 15", close to 2 years old. The male Festae is between 15-16", about 3-4 years old, he is the biggest cichlid in the tank. Mota, Jaguar, RD, Midas and Synspilum are all ~14". The oldest fish is the 14" RD and a 17" Pleco, about 5 year old. The silver Aro's are all 18". I have some small fish too, 11" female festae, 9" Frontosa, 6" Salvini, 7" Servrum, 7" Featherfin catfish.
Despite his size and appetite, the RTC has not eaten any smaller fish (His frozen fish is larger than some of the cichlids). This surprises me.
