Hi All, I have just come home from dinner to find my Festae all hiding and a bit beat up. The male Ornatum is chasing them all
over the tank at the moment. The female Ornatum continues to hang in the cave doing her magic? Here is a video of what is going on
if you are interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiKCozWbyFc&feature=g-upl this is my first attempt to copy a url link on a MAC (I have been a PC guy) so I am not sure if this link is correct. Either way you can find this video on my youtube channel GuapoteMel if you are interested.

I hope you enjoy it, Mel

Well the lights just went out for the night. I been watching these guys since I came home. What has been happening is the male
enters the cave with the female and turns upside down ( I am assuming he is fertilizing her unverified eggs), glides over the top of the
cave and exits to chase away the Festae and repeats over and over. His bars are very vivid now. Female has not left the cave but I can see
her gliding along the top and sides of the tank as well. That is all I can report for the evening...

Mel thats awesome. Thats for sharing. I hope all works out with this spawn. Keep us udated.

Great video! It sure looks like their in the process of spawning to me. Your pairs size and color are so impressive. I have been growing out one for about 2 years now from a 1/2 inch and it is just now at around 6 inches .By far the slowest growing cichlid I have ever owned. What temperture do you keep their tank? Hopefully in a few days you have a cloud of Ornatum babies in your tank :headbang2 Look forward to more updates.

Thanks for sharing Mel. Always a pleasure to get a new vid from you.

Wow!! Nice :) That Ornatum is beautiful :) I wonder what size tank is that you have them all in? How will you get the fry out of the tank?

Looks very promising! I hope everything works out. It would be awesome to see some f1's circulating..
