I made the roots from a water safe epoxy mix called Apoxie Sculpt I believe. The stuff gets rock hard when it dries, is non toxic and completely water tight. I basically applied the stuff on drinking tubes and formed them as I was going.

I'll be doing another LARGER brackish tank and will have a much more elaborate and more realistic root system using this stuff. The fish LOVE swimming through the 'roots'.

WOW! I have to agree, those roots(haha probably not what you thought everyone was going to comment on) are awesome. I've been wanting to do exactly that to my aquarium. They look great on the video, how well would you say they look in real life?
