Males sometimes have a steeper profile.
If there is not another argentea in the tank, or if they are immature, these differences are blurred. The 2 below are immature, and I can't tell what is what sex.

The slight black spot in the dorsal in the female in #1 may be a determiner though, note the lack of color in the male in #2.

female.. males have much longer dorsal fins. Males are also skinnier, this one is on the chunky side lol.

thanks so female argentea cant have longer dorsal fins you mean? and yeah i observe my argentea is not that skiny. lol.

Not sure, but it's pretty even with the Non-Professional camera photo. LOL

sorry dude i dont have professional camera i just use phone camera but sooner or later, ill be buying one :)

You can't use dorsal/anal fins to sex. Theres not real visual way to sex them as far as I know. You would have to vent it to be accurate. Also I would think males are thicker and not skinnier.

wait so males is thicker than female?

Looks female to me as well, although it's hard with this species. Males tend to have more prominent black spots over their bodies.

im really new to central american cichlids. can i ask a good diet for my argentea? i feed it with cichlid biogold+.
