Vieja Argentea gender

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They were mine, the male killed the female soon after the spawn, he was then killed by a pantostictus. Argentea are omnivors in nature, they need veggies, balanced with not too much protein. I find a diet that would work for koi or goldfish perfect. Catfish pellets from the local feed store work well and are inexpensive. More than diet, I believe water changes (I try to do 2-3 per week) do more for health and coloration than anything. They come from rivers where massive amounts of water is changed every second

I also believe in lots of plants, they provide shelter, thus stress relief and soak up nitrates.

Thanks for the compliments. I don't remember their origin.

No need. It's a compliment to say it looks nice even without using a nice camera. Pretty fish.

sorry for your loss mate. too bad the female died. i want to try to breed argentea soon enough but need to buy male. my argentea is female right? so they dont have hump on their head?

so you mixed it those and feed it with your argentea? may i know those names of food so i can try to feed it with my argentea? :) argentea are soft water right? does it help their color to enhance when the water is soft?

thanks mate but that's what im planning to do soon buy a dslr camera hehe. like your datnoid. how big is it? :)

I have two in the tank. The one in my avatar is 5.5" and the other is 6". There are pics in the Datnoid Media Lounge if you get bored.

Also, I presume it's hard to find nice, i.e. costly CA cichlids in the Phillipines? If so, great find on your Argentea.
