Vieja Argentea Hybrid?

thats great info :-) i did have the option to buy one last year but turned it down after reading about them! think ill defo give it some thought if the fry (the people have a breeding pair) appear again online. thanks :-)
 
I haven't seen any hybrids of it. The only good traits would be the body shape and kok. Maybe silver pearling but it would be a gamble.

I think Argentea, while beautiful, don't have much to offer hybridization wise.
 
i was doing some research on the argentea they look kinda like a thai silk...just a guess because i do not kno how a silk is made but they have very similar look to them....hmmmmmmmmm?????

I see what you mean, but if the thai silk was the result of crossing to a pure species there are species that would be much more suitable to creating the thai silk. Such as the Herichthys sp. "Turquoise" a166-02.jpg. I once theorized that it was part of the equation to create Thai Silk. Now I think it is mostly, if not all, selective breeding from a very pearly zz.

Thai silk are I believe kamfa based and a vieja mixed with FH makes kamfas..idk
