Vieja breidhori from Wetspot?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've ordered from WetSpot in the past and had a fantastic experience. I'm sure if you call or email, they may be able to send a picture to you.

Also, Breidohri are number one on my bucket list of fish I want to keep. Absolutely love them. If you do end up ordering them, please post some pictures!
I'm putting in a order today so will post pics soon. I've got a nice 90 gallon they can grow out in until they're bit enough to go with the big boys in the 300. I use to have a beautiful male quite a few years back but had to quit the hobby for a while. I'm pumped to get them again. Im getting 3 and will grow them out and keep the nicest male of the batch and will sell the others once they all put on some good size

Sounds like an awesome plan! I can't wait to see pictures. I'm in the process of saving up for a 125 or something around that size so I can finally keep one myself.

What part of the US are you in?

Sweet man, nice. Thorichthys have been growing on me. You've got some heterospilus growing up too don't you? How are they?

Thanks. Thorichthys are among my favorite genus along with Amphilophus and Vieja/Paratheraps/Maskaheros :)

The heterospilus are doing great. they're getting a new home...getting a 125 delivered this Sunday :D

Nice, good to hear. I've got 10 growing out in a 55 now. Are you planning to just keep a pair in the 125 or as many as possible?

they'll be going into the 125 with an argentea, pearsei and bocourti. All are still fairly small...the argentea is the largest at ~7-8" SL. The pearsei and bocourti are the only ones that will grow quickly and I'll be keeping a close eye out for aggression. in the long run though I do plan on going down to probably just a pair of the heterospilus that will eventually get their own tank.

Does anyone have a vieja breidhori that they got from Wetspot and could you share a pic. Was thinking of ordering one to add to my all male vieja tank. Also would breidhori do fine in an all male vieja melanura tank? I use to have a good size one a few years back and he was chill but have heard some people say they can be pretty aggressive. Thoughts? duanes duanes
I kept a large male with synspilum & melanurus a couple years back. I had no issues with aggression between those two Vieja. Briedhori grow much slower than melanarus so keep that in mind.

I got my Briedhori stock from Cichlids of the Americas & was very happy with them. I've purchased some South American stock from Wetspot recently & it was a top notch experience all around
