I have a Melanura living in my sump right now because he wouldn’t quit fighting with other Vieja, and Amph’s.
I think if you bought 2 of a species, you’d end up with more females than you’d want, and a runt here and there, and not really have what you’re after.
And ... these Vieja species will all grow at a different rate. So one will be bigger, the rest smaller and waaay smaller, so there’ll be blood.
Can’t escape it—you want Vieja, you’ll have to manage size/maturity/aggression.
