Vieja Hartwegi

Just got a 6" Hartwegi for $12 bucks, never really heard of them anybody have much experience with them

I have a 5 year old pair, male 13" female 11". They can get quite aggressive when they are spawning but what cichlid doesn't. They are kept in a 180G along with a number of other Paraneetroplus species ('bifasciatus', melanurus', sp. Coatzacoalcos, 'fenestratus sp. Catermaco) They develop into a very attractive adult. Have great appetites for pellet food. Supplement with veggies (Romaine, peas - they love them).
