Yeah... as they establish who stays and who goes, the evicted will move to the 150, and then I'll se how things shake out there. I just have some juvies growing out in that tank right now, so I have some flexibility when the time comes. But so far, there hasn't been a lot of aggression.

nice to hear that you actually have a plan for the future

thanks guys for the info, I will keep this all in mind. Looks like most of you have desk jobs since I came home to 11 post replies lol.

Regani was the most mellow that i have kept(and are currently keeping)synspilum is next(except some males can get alittle rough some times)melanarus is also pretty mellow. Stay away from zonatus, blackbelt and argentea unless you have very large tanks or they are the smallest fish in the tank(had pretty good success when they are the smallest)although they dont stay the smallest for long. I currently have regani and synspilum and argentea in community setups and by far the regani are the least agrresive out of them all.

I have a male/female pair in a 100 gallon with 6 convicts and a young pair of jacks (soon to be moved). It could be considered community but it is also a fragile balance and violent episodes have been known to occur but with no injuries.

So far I have 3 argentaes in my 125

Rut roh. :)

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say these guys will be the first to get separated. From the group, and each other. :D

synspilum, melanarus and regani are generally considered the less aggressive of the vieja/paratheraps group.
sorry to bring up the old but I searched for this thread rather than postin a new one. So is this above info the best advice so far. Ive got 5 silver dollars, corys, and firemouths. SHould I not bother with any vieja at all in this set up? I looked and like chocolates and thought they were supposed to be smaller and peaceful but it dosnt sound so the more I search. So any thoughts if something will work or should I stay away from them. At least in this tank.

well I found a good site that showed the mall and their info, looks like I need to wait on them, thats a bummer because they are my faves outside of firemouths and some others but I would rather have a bigger tank some day with a group of them. Thanks guys.

What size tank are we talking? I had a Blackbelt in a 190 that never bothered small fish but in a 75 he nearly killed my Green Terror. Just showing the effect of the size of the tank.
