I agree with Nutty.
Even when you pull the fish out of the river, there is so much variation in this genus that it makes identification difficult (though synspilus and bifas aren't usually too tough).
The fish are beautiful, so unless you're starting a breeding program it really doesn't matter. The requirements of each species are nearly identical.
