I got 2 new vieja's but they seem to be picky eaters. I currently have them in with 2 EBJD's... they are all under 2.5 inches... and aggression is at a minimum. all 4 fish are pairs(to be)... male EBJD is biggest and most aggressive, but no damage is done... I am currently feeding them all Ken's earthworm flakes and spirulina flakes. But The Viejas seems to not really like them, touch them or eat them... its been a week now... is there something i should be feeding them now? what should i be feeding them? i heard that live isnt a good idea because of internal parasite issues...

Try a tiny pellet food, and see if they prefer that form better. And don't panic. Fish can go quite awhile without eating. Not saying forever, but you should have time to get it figured out. Maybe also try putting in some frozen bloodworms. Never met a fish that didn't like those!

Try some pellets (New Life Spectrum, Omega One, Hikari)

I got my VS about 2 months ago at around the 2.5" size and it ate like a pig from the getgo. Since then it has nearly tripled in overall size (not length).

Perhaps your VS are still adjusting to its new home and will eat in time. Good luck

Best to find out what the previous owner or store fed the fish with. Fish that are used to eat one type of fish will not readily switch to eat another food, so there is some adjustment period. Most fish will accept NLS pellets. If 1 mm are still too big, use a roller to ground it down to powder.
