Vieja Synspilum / Melanura Growth from 2019

Wanted to share the development of my 3 year old Synspilum / Melanura! It has been a been a pleasure thus far raising this guy. He was always the dominant out of the very first group of viejas I purchased from COTA.

December 2021 - Didn't take many photos in 2021. I guess I was busy tending to the fry the syns pair had.




Today, March 2022 - A bit over 3 years old finally showing some sort of hump. Not official but I'd say he's at least a foot long. His colors have been really nice lately, not at the level of the female but really close. The female he is with seems to be his for life, they are inseparable.

Awesome!! They should have plenty of room to do their thing!

Male was about 7" and female 5" when they started to spawn.
