Vieja Synspilum (red headed cichlid) compatibility

Conspecific aggression is different from aggression towards other fish. A pair or two male in limited tank space can get aggressive to each other, but a single syn can be tolerant of other fish.

Do you think conspecific aggression can spill over to other members of vieja or would it be limited to syn on syn crime?

I had a friend with a 12 inch synspillum that killed a 24 inch giant snakehead by attacking its underside and ripping its guts out. I had oje that got it *** handed to it by a number or other CA/SA cichlids same size or smaller. You never really know.

I have a 9- 10 inch in a community tank, mainly peaceful has a little tangle.with.a jack Dempsey every now.an again but I blame the jack, anything small gets left alone
