Vietnam Tiger Kamfa Progression

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
these are definitely zz's, but I have seen kamfamalau with the same exact coloring as the "Vietnam Tiger Flowerhorn." What exactly is this so called Vietnam Tiger Flowerhorn? I also was wondering because these look a whole lot like some of the tan kings. Have they been renamed or something? call me confused!

I see the red does come out more in these as it progresses, but I'm still confused on this flowerhorn name lol.

I thought calling a fish a "vietnam kamfa" implied that it was a strain similar to this because the vietnamese have different standards when it comes to what makes a fish a kamfa as i think kamfa is a thai word?
anyways this is exactly what i expected when i read the title not a kamfa by the thai standard but a heavy bodied fish with more double row, worm or tiny dot pearl and almost no vieja whatsoever...
Does anyone agree with me"?

I have one that looks almost or just like that. My friend gave it to me. I just call it a Vietnamese Red Dragon Flowerhorn.

this is the same strain albert was selling for a while for 80? looks like it to me, and they all look like what I would call a viet tiger

The characteristic that i have seen in all of the Vietnam Tigers is the prominent underbite. I am yet to see one without it. At least the ones that have been coming in recently.

Hey everyone! Sorry its been 10 months since my last entry. Ive just been lettin this guy grow but unfortunately i havent been taking pictures :/ Hes gotten massive about 8 or 9 inches now! Hes kind of in a bad mood lately but i have him moved into a nice roomy 75 gallon tank. For some reason his fin trail have receded after i put him into the 75. He doesnt have fin rot or anything but im sad to see them go because they were really pretty and long.IMG_4311.JPGIMG_4329.JPGIMG_4315.JPGIMG_4300.JPG

Wow just realized ive had this guy for about a year now! Weird thinking about how small he used to be. I could probably fit his whole body from when i first got him into his nuchal hump now haha
