I found a nice 55 gallon bin and i want to put a viewing window in it. The window will be 12x24 acrylic 1/4 in. how would i seal the bin to the window?

i will start soon and keep you guys updated once i get responses

someone must have input...also,i have a 10 gallon to take apart and reuse,i would like to use that glass

I would

1) Disassemble the 10g
2) Cut a hole in the rubbermaid
3) Silicone it on

Beautiful. Just use 100% silicone and you'll be good to go. 55g isn't terribly big, so you shouldn't need any other bracing.

im scared that 350+ lbs of water will bow the hole where the window is,i think ill make supports with chain or something.

My thoughts are that the rubbermaid is too flexible and it's not worth the risk.

If I had to do it, I suppose I would use 1/4 acrylic, drill holes all the way around through the container and the acrylic, silicone inbetween the acrylic and the container (acrylic on the inside), and then bolt it all together with stainless hardware.
