Amon amarth is the only thing worth listening to IMO.. they are the only ones who have conveyed the pure badassness of viking metal without any aspect of it being cheezy.
Their new album is pretty awesome aswell.
And genres are stupid, I'm very glad amon amarth does not fit into the 'viking metal' powermetal clone, they paint a way better feeling than any of those other bands.

Most Viking metal is some other form of metal (oftentimes folk) but the lyrics are about vikings...
It's stupid though because the lyrics are only one part of how to classify a band. If Britney spears sang about Vikings, she wouldn't be viking metal.
