You don't need AVG if you have Avast, however stuff that is a little different would be malwarebytes or spybot as they are good with spyware and adware. Go to www.filehippo.com , they have everything.
 
Those kind of viruses can be hard to get rid of, and you may not of seen that last of it. I would download microsoft security essentials, if you have windows, it's free and it's from microsoft.

If it comes back, just search for the source file, the exe, and google it. There are a bunch of sites out there that are built to help people kill viruses
 
I would actually advise against running 2 virus scan programs at the same time since one may coz the other program problems... so best is to find one that you find works best and stick with that one...

But yeah, it sounds like you have some spyware on your computer, so check out Spybot to try and help you remove the problem...
 
i suggest that you always run your anti-virus while in safe mode. fewer things get started in that mode.

Avast can let you scan the PC in boot time mode (before Windows loads).
