The teeth on these cichlids aren't always obvious, but they're clearly visible in photos. Included are pics of a blackbelt (2), salvini, JD, and Nic.

With all honesty dovii will have the most visible and largest teeth for a Cichlid in my opinion and they have plenty of attitude to go with them

Yeah, I'd have to agree, dovii have some of the largest, most visible teeth of any cichlid. Here's a very low quality pic, showing the size of my dovii's teeth from a few years back. They always have some teeth that protrude past the lip, so are quite visible. Though when the teeth get really large, they do end up getting broken somehow.

I have had a number of young male salvini at around 4" wih 2 huge visible teeth. But it never lasts long......I don't think they go a week with out biting somebody:ROFL:, so they break there large visible teeth quick....and i never see such large visible teeth at any later stage again.

I read a while back someones. Post saying when their dovii were. Spawning the male would bite the glass and you could here it scrape! I was sceptical to say the least, my midas pair have spawned recently and sure if my 10inch male didn't bite at the glass exposing his teeth and Making a scratching noise!!! Its surprising when they really put some effort in streching their lips at how. Big cichlids teeth are, looked almost like piranha teeth! I've done this before if you have the misfortune of losing a larger cichlid, take a look! My male dovii wears his down biting rocks.
