Will do. I only go once in awhile when I have free time.

As for the peacock bass spp...I have no clue. They had a bunch of mixed stuff that looked half hybrid to me. Not sure where they are getting the stock from these days.

cool thanks, my favorites were the pecocks and flagtail. but i must say, i was more interested in the structure itself then the fish!

I'm always down too, and I want a ride in that MONSTER car you built.

I might have to plan another big MFK day with you. Might have a hook up to see the new bear exhibit at the MN Zoo.

You have my number, or send me a PM

I've been all over. These are from St Paul's Zoo. After that I was with Underwater Adventures Aq. Been working with several other places as well.
I will just say that things aren't always as fun as they look - and dealing with fish on this level can motivate people to do things that aren't best for the animals. I don't want to be with a place that doesn't have animals well being as the #1 priority. Anyone who works in this field will atest to the same thing. My goal is to provide the best possible care for captive animals - whether that's through exhibit construction/design, to daily husbandry, to long term research and sharing of knowledge. Education and Conservation are center points for me. If a mistake is made, I think the best thing to do is learn from it and move on. Cheating, lying, cover ups and making unheard of amounts of money are NOT things I want to be associated with.
I will be happy to die a poor, homeless man who was able to pass on knowledge of fish keeping to the next generation.
:clap that was beautiful :clap
also how do you get a job like yours

Biology background of some kind and as much hands on experience as possible.
www.AZA.org has joblistings if you want to poke around and see some descriptions.

Let me know what happens with that and if you could use a discount on admission. It would have to be soon though.

You just scratched the surface. Matt, with all the drama and crap that goes on in the public zoo and aquarium industry, you should just write a book. :D
