Visually speaking, more than 4 fish in a tank is too much.

Very sharp looking tank Burbotman!

Currently I have mine with a bit more plants, but I have been wondering if as the fish get bigger, I will have to tone down the plant side a bit.
This tankreassures me that even when the fish are fully grown I will still be able to have some plant options.

Thank you, I found the only way to keep the plants rooted with the big bichirs (20"+) was to experiment with substrate. Sand alone does not keep them down, trial and error I found a two inch bed of fluorite sand capped with an inch of blasting media is firm enough to keep them rooted.
Love to see a pic of your tank, but only if there are less than four fish in your tank..........................

Good thread for stimulating discussion. I like when people have and share preferences and opinions, I dislike when people try to impose their views on others. That said, personally I appreciate many different styles of tanks. I enjoy sparsely populated biotope tanks and appreciate well run borderline Jdm tanks.

I am in awe at some of the crazy bichir tanks in the polypterus section, the skill and maintenance displayed is impressive.
