Vitattus or Armatus??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Having had and have both now, i'd say Armatus. AFT tend to grow very slow, and don't leave much for the viewing pleasure sometimes. They might not even eat in front of you. The Armatus grows much quicker, and looks pretty cool when they have a fish caught in between those big fangs before meeting their faith. Though both can be skiddish, ATF tops the chart in that category hands down...And I would agree a Armatus can live in a 300 gal for quiet some time. I don't think there have been many reach 24 inches on here has there? It seem 18in seems to be the size of most peoples, and for what ever reason they start having problem..

Lmao, Even a beginner aquarist knows that fish don't get as large in captivity and they do in the wild. Fail.
A beginner aquarist doesn't know squash, including not to give false information!!

Ended up getting a vittatus. Any good tankmates for him?
Well congrat and great p/u! As for tankmates, not sure as I have seen people with a varied of tankmates, and they seem to get picked off one by one. Maybe some bottom dwellers, like loaches, nit really sure on this one. I keep my GATF with pbass and silver arrows with no problem thus far. good luck..

False information? How is that false information? How many 24" Armatus have you seen in your life time?
I don't know about life time, but I've seen one everyday for the past month... I bet you can't say the same...
