Vittata???

Unless I can find some cinctas, I will probably trade in some fish for my lfs to get about 4+ vittatas (cheapest pikes I see right now). They would be in a 75G.
Anyone had these before. All ive read so far say they peaceful til 6-7" and have been spawned in aquariums. Also might be dumpin my african 55 for a group of something.

So PP and whoever else might know about the V, let me know...

Vittatus are really kewl pikes...absolutely love them. They have HUGE mouths though, so choose tankmates wisely. Aside from that...they are pretty much like all other pikes...

if I get 4-5 and try for a pr, I dont think Ill have any mates. I have 2 lfs looking for cinctas for me though

what about the Psittacus, I found out today that they are 2 males so only geting 1?

Yeah I would only get one of them...lol. If you get both parrots chances are you will have some missin scales. The vittata are worth it...unique among pikes by their long snout and LARGE mouths. They have been reported to breed in temps. as low as 65 degrees too! !!!

Cleaning the playsand right now and pot is soaking. This weekend I do my dyi rocks. The Psittacus will be in a 29 til the 75 is ready. Proboably pick it up tomorrow or sat.

I couldnt resist a Bichir today ($20 for an 8"), do you think it would do ok with the vittata and psittacus?

I have 3 Vittas and they are cool pikes mine have breed twice mine are around 14 inches in a 210 gal just them and a 20 inch tire track eel they have been togeather for abut 3 yr and they get along fine and eat the same things blood worms fish beef heart krill my pikes are 2 female 1 male all introdused at the same time.

Hmmm...does the male jump back and forth between the females? Impressive, they do get large...lol...would love to see some pictures....from a pike fanatic to a pike fanatic!

yeah, pics please. my 75 is ready for somethin. I was about to keep an african theme but decided to wait.
Trying to find somethin nice under $80 that I can get 3+ of.
