Vittatus and me!

Haha thanks for all your hopes everyone! I've seen him nip at my payara and he hated my barracuda so I sold that guy in fear he would get chipped on some more. I love my tiger and I agree that a tank full would be so baddazz but unfortunately they are hard to come by. And speaking of tragedies lol, my buddies Jardini bit the whole tail off of his 6" protulatus! His Jardini is the same damn size! Now that's a size to chompin story if you ask me! Speaking of which... this is my species list for my tank

Tiger..
Scomb..
Featherfin cat..
Silver Aro..
Highfin Pleco..

And some ghost shrimp for a snack and a little clean up.
Anyone have any suggestions on what other kind of cool or unusual fish I could put with my monsters? I was thinking a bircher or a fire eel, but I'm not to sure the eel would survive unless he did nothing but burrow. And not sure what other kind of fish besides an armatus I would actually go for although the scomb might not survive with the armatus attitude??? Any ideas or maybe something you all have that is a neat and aggressive beast??

not vittatus, u have alittle forskalli there brother. i nice fish to own, and still very aggressive.

OK so I did some looking into my tiger!? Vittatus vs. Forskalii? What is the major feature that separates them form one to another? I've seen that they bother have stripes and red fins especially the tail fin. But do they both have lower and upper jaw movement? Mine definitely does and have the red tailfin.

Thanks for the link :) so basically I could have either and as said they are basically the same fish but regardless of what I read or find out about the species I have, I'm still in no way shape or form not impressed completely with the fish! I have a dream predator and TOP OF THE LINE at that being freshwater. Honestly haha the only thing I could have that would be better would be a great white shark, but that's outlandish and absurd to think anyone would try to have and ocean as a tank hahaha!! I love my fish and I seem to have done what is necessary for it to thrive. Now that I read that link I think I'm going to go with less aggressive and or less gittery fish as tank mates. Don't want to find my tiger on my living room floor one day cause he jumped through a Plexiglas lid getting started!

not the same fish. ive kept/keep them both. you have a forskalli. you are right, you do have a top of line predator. maybe some of the other guys will help you with i.d, but im 99% sure its not vittatus. heres a pic for you to help with your i.d. still a great fish to keep! yours will look like the tiger on bottom. tiger on top is vittatus.

Looks like a Brevis or Forskalli, too skinny to be vittatus. still going to be one little monster! congrats on the fish man, all ATF are awesome fish.

You do realize that the Silver Aro is going to grow extremely faster then everyone else and eventually he can become a problem. How big is your Aro right now?

Yes payaraman I know this lol! I haven't measured but it is around 4". He will be in his own 55 gal soon with a pleco. I've got my monster bases covered ;)
