Vittatus ATF

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a big bag of frozen white shrimp (from Costco) which I let thaw out in some water, pull off the tails of course and cut into tiny bite size chunks. They LOVE it!! If you try this remember the size of the cut chunks are important. You want to make sure they can grab these on the fly, get it down the gullet and come back for more! Meaning not too big of pcs.

ESOX. I like the shrimp stuff. I have to try it
Big Mike... I have my fish in a 4ft. long 60gl (for now untill next yr). I see no signs of aggression. My scomb is about 3.75", Vittatus are 4.5 and 5.5". All 3 mix together. The scomb usually does his own thing, but does swim with the ATF's. I did notice one thing with the three... my scombs appetite slowed down. From 1 feeder a dat, to 1 feeder every 3-4 days. Right now he has not eaten in 5 days. Dont know why? Any thoughts!

scombs are better solo. they get sidetracked with other fish in the tank. mine did the same. they eventually died

I do hear that a lot, so I am trying to sell him before he dies. I can say that he is in good shape and his growth is on point, according to what I hear (1inch a month). He did eat last night. He ate 2 minnows, so that tells me that his appetite is growing

keep him comfortable, dont add tankmates, move plants, etc.. that will help too.

Yeah, I try to keep everyone comfy. Last night all 3 of my fish (atf's/scomb) chased my pleco for no reason. I tripped out and did not understant why. I know they are all mean fish, but I hear that they dont act like that untill they get a lil bigger. My vittatus kicked it off and as the pleco swam, the other Vittatus swam at him, and before the pleco went behind my powerhead, my scomb shot across the tank scarring the pleco for cover. Its funny cause they just ate about 1.5hr before. Anyone ...

they get very territorial. my armatus and pleco go at it once and a while.
